waterviews-lake-arrowhead-cape-coralCape Coral and Southwest Florida has to be one of my favorite places on earth but coming in a close second is the North Georgia Mountains and Lake Arrowhead GA more specifically. I actually work with many clients who own property in and around Southwest Florida and also have property in the North Georgia Mountains or in places like Tennessee or North Carolina. It is only natural that if you are in your retirement years and wanting to enjoy the best of both worlds then these two beautiful southern opportunities are here for you.

Obviously if you are on this site searching for homes in the Cape Coral area that you know why this place is so amazing but let me take a few minutes and explain to you about Lake arrowhead Georgia. Lake arrowhead is a gated community in the city of Waleska. The location is about one hour North of the city of Atlanta and is almost in commute distance if you work in the northern suburbs. The closest town to Lake arrowhead is Canton Georgia and it is a booming little town to say the least. Homes around Canton are  located right off of 575 making an easy route to get to the northern suburbs of Atlanta which are just about 20 to 30 minutes away. The community of Lake arrowhead has a beautiful new golf course, clubhouse playgrounds and even a Chapel. There is a little bit for everyone including a wonderful Fourth of July fireworks celebration on the Lake.

Real estate at Lake arrowhead ranges from buildable lots in the $10,000 range to luxury waterfront properties costing almost 1,000,000. As I mentioned about the amenities in Lake arrowhead the real estate opportunities are just as open. There is truly a little bit for everyone in the community. There are plenty of properties that are very affordable with mountain views and turnkey rental potentials if you would like some additional income when living down here in Southwest Florida.

Like I said at the start of this blog my heart is truly in Cape Coral in Southwest Florida but I absolutely love the North Georgia area including Lake arrowhead.

As a seasoned and productive local real estate expert, I am often asked to show homes via boat in Cape Coral. This is something that I feel is important for getting a great feel for what are community really looks like by water. The majority of our homes are traditional ranch with many different elevations and styles to choose from but where they really become interesting is the back of the properties. You may have to deal with a walk or you may have to deal with multiple bridges where your boat may not fit. Can you really compare Cape Coral to Naples?

Now it is hard to compare Cape Coral to Naples. They are so different in so many ways yet both offer such amazing waterfront access. Naples is without question a very expensive and fancy part of Southwest Florida. Cape Coral is arguably a much more affordable place to purchase a waterfront home. The recent five Million dollar + sale at Cape Harbor is proof of this. This 18,404 square-foot home sold for just over 5 million when most professionals agree that this home would sell for two to almost three times more than this just 45 minutes south of the area.

Now I know it is very difficult to compare the two cities but bang for your buck for what you get for waterfront access, fishing and the bonus of access to islands like Sanibel, Pine Island and Captiva are all an added bonuses to why I think Cape Coral is a much better deal for your perfect vacation waterfront property. If you are moving to Cape Coral and are actually still looking to work I would also say that Cape Coral offers more opportunity for jobs then the Naples area. With Hertz moving to Estero and everything that Fort Myers has to offer from a manufacturing and retail standpoint Cape Coral hands-down offers many more job opportunities in the Naples area. I’d also like to mention that Fort Myers has an international airport and accessibility to Cape Coral to Fort Myers is much easier into Naples.

Don’t get me wrong Naples is an absolutely amazing place with beautiful homes and great shopping but I truly love living in Cape Coral and then blessed to be a long time residential real estate agent here. The eight Lakes community in Cape Coral is a very interesting and unique waterfront living opportunity. These Gulf access homes are technically lakes called Brittany lake, Finisterre lake, Brittania lake and  Thunderbird lake They allow for long rich views of the pristine water usually reserved for local Riverfront properties. This exclusive neighborhood is very close to marinas and shops at Cape Harbour and Tarpon Point. Most of these styles of homes are villla, traditional or Mediterranean.  Almost every home in the neighborhood has a pool overlooking the stunning lakes with Manitee and all kinds of fish at your back door. Most of the homes in the eight lakes are only 15 to 20 minutes to open water in the Gulf of Mexico. The neighborhood is located in the 33914 ZIP Code desirable of Cape Coral. Right next to the neighborhood is the local dog park, biking trails and the butterfly house. The adjacent Rose Garden neighborhood offers great access as well but does not have the dramatic views that the eight lakes offers. There is just so much opportunity on the Eight Lakes. I live just a couple streets away and have similar salt water and Gulf access that this neighborhood has but it is so nice to have the sweeping views of these unique lakes at your rear door. Oh and I forgot to mention popular builders in the Great Lakes neighborhood include Paul Homes and Bellagio. They both do a great job and their homes can sometime command over one million dollars!

New – MLS Search by Map function

We are proud to announce are new mapping function on our local Southwest Florida real estate website. This new updated IDX feature allows for you to zoom in in a specific area for an MLS map search. Places like Bonita Springs, Matlacha and Sanibel Island are all easier to search for homes now that you can use a basic map. We feel like this is a greater tool than most of the other traditional MLS searches on local real estate websites. If you are looking for a home in a specific area or community and you don’t know the name of it like for example the McGregor Boulevard area of Fort Myers then you can just use the map and zoom in on a specific community or type of waterfront property. This mapping function also allows for zooming in using Google Street view. This enables you to see what the neighbors may look like for a specific property or if the property is adjacent to a busy street or lower boat ramp.

 

To find this easy to use map search on our local website you can go to any of the top local communities located on the top of our website and find the search by map function on the right side of the navigation. With one easy click you will be brought to a map that is already geocoded for that specific area and allows you to see all the homes that are currently active on the market from the sky.
